Hi, we are Peter Cerra and Shannon Bateman, founders of River Otter Kayak Adventurers. Both of us grew up spending time outdoors and fostered a connection with nature. We both love spending time outside and have always been drawn to the water! Over the years, we’ve enjoyed paddling in rivers, oceans or on serene lakes, fishing, houseboating, or watersports.

Being near the water has always felt like home, and having access to the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton is a highlight of living here. Starting our business was a natural extension of our love for the outdoors and the desire to share that passion with others. We wanted to create a solution that makes it easy for locals and visitors to experience the peace, excitement and adventure that kayaking offers.
